Even MSNBC Host Maddow Admits Something Ain’t Right With Ambassador Assassination Story

Maddow reveals ‘chilling’ WikiLeaks cable written by killed ambassador to Libya

(Ok, so obviously, Maddow has a ways to go, but at least she’s questioning the official story ; And if SHE’S questioning the official story, so are millions of other people around the world…)

On her show Thursday night, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow explained that the attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya appeared to be the work of an organized jihadist group rather than the act of an angry mob.

She noted that Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, who was killed along with three other Americans, wrote a diplomatic cable in 2008 regarding Libya that was later released by WikiLeaks. The cable described Derna, a city not far from Benghazi where Stevens was killed, as a hotbed of al Qaeda activity.

“One Libyan interlocutor likened young men in Derna to Bruce Willis’ character in the action picture ‘Die Hard,’ who stubbornly refused to die quietly,” Stevens wrote. “For them, resistance against coalition forces in Iraq is an important act of ‘jihad’ and a last act of defiance against the Qadhafi regime.”

Initial reports claimed the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was the result of Muslim anger over a crude anti-Islam film produced in the United States. But additional reports of the incident suggest the consulate faced an organized assault from heavily-armed militants sympathetic to al Qaeda.

“Anybody who tells you that what happened to our ambassador and our consulate was the result of a protest over an offensive movie, you should ask them why they think that,” Maddow said. “I mean, that was the first version of events we heard, that does not seem to explain what happened that night. It does not seem to be born out by the facts the more facts we get.”

Group plans Toronto screening of controversial film about Mohammed

TOM GODREY | QMI AGENCY

TORONTO – A Hindu group in Toronto plans to screen the controversial film about the Prophet Mohammed that has sparked deadly protests in the Middle East.

Ron Banerjee of Canadian Hindu Advocacy said the group hopes to screen the film later this month and is searching for a venue in Toronto that can seat about 200 filmgoers.

He said there will be heavy security, including metal detectors.

The film has sparked protests in Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia and Libya, where earlier this week the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi was stormed and the ambassador and three other Americans killed.

“A lot of people want to see this film,” Banerjee said.

“It will be a private showing and filmgoers will be frisked and have to go through a metal detector.”
Banerjee said organizers of TIFF have refused to show the film, which depicts Mohammed as a womanizer and a madman.

He said venues in Toronto are reluctant to screen the film because they fear a backlash from radical Muslims.

“We are looking at showing the film at a Hindu temple,” Banerjee said on Friday. “Hindus are furious that people are being killed over this film.”

Banerjee said copies of the film have been withdrawn from circulation but are “available privately.”

Parts of the film are still available on the Internet. Snippets from other movies that are offensive to Christians and Hindus will also be shown, Banerjee said.

“In Canada, we have tolerance and diversity and they (Muslims) are simply going to have to tolerate diverse viewpoints and opinions without rioting,” he said, adding that he isn’t concerned about a backlash.

On Friday, his group will stage an event in which dog owners can walk their canines outside the Salahuddin Mosque in Toronto during prayer sessions.

The group says the event is in response to the fact that during an Islamic group’s anti-Israel demonstration at

Queen’s Park in August, a Jewish man was arrested for his involvement in an altercation where he was shoved and his dog was kicked.

Some devout Muslims believe dogs to be unclean and avoid the animals.

Bachmann: Libya attack was effort to impose Sharia law on the U.S…..(Um, I’m sorry…wtf?)

Michele Bachmann speaks to Values Voter Summit

Former Republican presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann on Friday asserted that the recent attacks on American embassies in Libya and Egypt were part of a plan to bring Sharia law to the United States.

“The violence has come to us, the United States,” the Minnesota congresswoman warned in a speech at the Values Voter Summit. “And on the anniversary of 9-1-1, no less, our Libyan ambassador and his courageous staff lost their lives in Benghazi in Libya in a cruel, cold-blooded, gruesome, intentional terror attack.”

“And all the while, the response of this administration has communicated both weakness and lack of resolve to the world,” she charged. “I want to be perfectly clear, this isn’t just about a movie. This is an intentional act that was done by radical Islamists who seek to impose their beliefs on the rest of the world and we will not stand for it!”

“And what we’re watching develop before our eyes today are the direct consequences of this administration’s policy of apology and appeasement across the globe and the supposed success of the president’s foreign policy genius — hailed by the media, even last week — is now exposed for what it is.”

Bachmann went on to explain President Barack Obama’s “relationship” with the Organization for Islamic Cooperation, which she claimed had a 10-year plan “to implement its Sharia-based speech code requirements worldwide.”

“That, my friends, explains the story of this week,” she insisted. “Islamic-enforced speech codes. No one, not Muslims, not non-Muslims, not Americans are allowed to say anything Islamists see as insulting to their religion. They intend to force us to kiss our freedom of speech and religion goodbye. And that’s why we’re being forewarned today.”

“President Obama needs to get his priorities straight,” Bachmann concluded. “What he needs to do is he needs to cancel his interview with David Letterman, cancel his meeting with Beyonce, cancel his meeting with Jay-Z, and instead, agree to meet with the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu!”

Earlier this year, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) accused Bachmann and four other Republican lawmakers of “specious and degrading attacks” after they called on inspectors general in the State, Homeland Security, Defense and Justice departments to investigate “potential Muslim Brotherhood infiltration” of the Obama administration by Huma Abedin, an aide to Secretary Clinton and wife of former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY).

US Ambassador’s Death: Fruits of US Foreign Policy

By Tony Cartalucci
theintelhub.com
Sept 14, 2012

The US has sworn to “make pay” those responsible for the death of US Ambassador Christopher Stevens. In reality, those responsible for Stevens’ death are fully armed, funded, trained, and coordinating with NATO special forces in Libya, across North Africa, and in Syria.

Image: Ambassador Stevens (right, wearing a blue tie) had been in Benghazi, Libya since March 2011. He played a leading role in coordinating the violent subversion of Libya by listed terrorist organizations before being named “US Ambassador” to Libya. Despite Libya’s capital being located over 400 miles west in Tripoli, Stevens was based out of Benghazi, the 30 year epicenter of  terrorist extremism and Al Qaeda in Libya. Recent attacks on US embassies were designed to give “street credit” to sectarian extremists who are increasingly seen internationally as mercenary proxies of US-Saudi-Israeli foreign policy – Stevens’ death was most likely an accident.

….

No one will “pay” beyond perhaps a wedding party attacked by US drones, or a limited liquidation of select terrorist groups the US created and armed during 2011′s violent overthrow of the Libyan government. Meanwhile, US warships and Marines will swarm around Libya simply to fulfill Western public expectations that “something” will be done.

The embassy attacks were tacitly supported by the respective client-regimes recently installed by US political and military destabilization, and were designed to reestablish an adversarial narrative to counter growing public awareness of the US’ use of terrorist proxies, and specifically, Al Qaeda in nations like Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. We are now expected to believe that Egypt’s new dictator Mohamed Morsi, and the terrorists of Libya whom the US is right now arming and supporting in Syria, are once again our implacable enemies.

In all likelihood, those behind the attacks on the embassies intended the violence to be limited in scope, and without any high-profile deaths – designed simply to lend sorely lacking legitimacy to America’s growing list of client-states. Ambassador Stevens apparently was caught in smoke while escaping from the US consulate in Benghazi, and died of asphyxiation – a victim of unforeseen circumstances, not the victim of a targeted assassination. However, with a high ranking US diplomat dead in Libya, in Benghazi, the very den of Al Qaeda, leaves the United States and its foreign policy, especially in regards to Syria, in tatters.

US Support of Terrorism in Libya Stretches Back Three Decades

“The details of the plan were sketchy, but it seemed to be a classic CIA destabilization campaign. One element was a “disinformation” program designed to embarrass Kaddafi and his government. Another was the creation of a “counter government” to challenge his claim to national leadership. A third — potentially the most risky — was an escalating paramilitary campaign, probably by disaffected Libyan nationals, to blow up bridges, conduct small-scale guerrilla operations and demonstrate that Kaddafi was opposed by an indigenous political force.” -Newsweek, “A Plan to Overthrow Kaddafi,” August 3, 1981

The Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), along with its affiliates and predecessors, have been armed, trained, its leaders coddled and supported by the West for over 30 years. One of these predecessors, the  US-CIA backed National Front for the Salvation of Libya (NFSL) made multiple attempts to assassinate Qaddafi and initiate armed rebellion throughout Libya during the 1980′s.

Many of these fighters would also line the US-Saudi created front, Al Qaeda, when first it was conceived in the mountains of Afghanistan in the 1980′s. Most of these fighters lived and operated from Libya’s eastern region of Cyrenaica, and in particular, the cities of Benghazi and Darnah.

The US Army’s West Point Combating Terrorism Center (CTC) noted in its report, “Al-Qa’ida’s Foreign Fighters in Iraq,” that these same fighters, drawn in particular from Benghazi and Darnah, would then move on to fighting US troops in both Afghanistan starting in 2001, and Iraq beginning in 2003, as well as contributing to the sectarian violence that made up the backbone of Iraq’s so-called “civil war.”

Whether or not their affiliation with Al Qaeda was official throughout the last 3 decades, the CTC’s report confirms that by 2007, an announced merger was made:

The apparent surge in Libyan recruits traveling to Iraq may be linked the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group’s (LIFG) increasingly cooperative relationship with al‐Qa’ida, which culminated in the LIFG officially joining al‐Qa’ida on November 3, 2007. (page 9, .pdf)

It would seem unthinkable then that the US would pick what was the epicenter of terrorism in Libya to make contacts with militants who had carried out three decades of terrorism and had even fought directly with US troops across multiple theaters of war – especially after these terrorists officially announced their merger with Al Qaeda. But that is exactly what the United States did.

Starting in March 2011, US President Barack Obama appointed Christopher Stevens as “Special Representative to the Libyan Transitional National Council,” and sent him to Benghazi to coordinate US military, diplomatic, and financial support to a “counter government” constituted from Cyrenaica’s Al Qaeda terror battalions and a cadre of US-educated, politically cultivated proxies across the “National Transitional Council” (NTC).

Eventually, Stevens’ mission would become a success. NATO-backed terrorists overran the Libyan government, overthrowing it in Tripoli, brutalizing the cities of Bani Walid and Sirte – with the help of several months of aerial bombardment from NATO -  and exterminating or exiling the entire population (10,000 to 30,000 people) of Tawarga. And almost immediately after the US’ success in Libya, the very terror brigades NATO had been funding, arming, training, and providing air support for, set out for the Turkish-Syrian border where they began invading Syria.

Ambassador Stevens’ Murderers Tied Directly to US-Backed Terrorists in Syria

Entire brigades fighting the Syrian government are led by Libyan LIFG terrorists and include within their ranks Saudi-inspired Wahhabi extremists – the ones who surrounded and attacked the US consulate in Benghazi, leading to the death of Ambassador Stevens.

Reuters, in their article, “Libyan fighters join Syrian revolt,” reported, that Mahdi al-Harati, “a powerful militia chief from Libya’s western mountains,” who is actually a militant of the US, British, and UN listed terrorist organization Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), “now leads a unit in Syria, made up mainly of Syrians but also including some foreign fighters, including 20 senior members of his own Libyan rebel unit.” Reuters would go on to explain, “the Libyans aiding the Syrian rebels include specialists in communications, logistics, humanitarian issues and heavy weapons,” and that they “operate training bases, teaching fitness and battlefield tactics.”

Image: Libyan Mahdi al-Harati of the US State DepartmentUnited Nations, and the UK Home Office (page 5, .pdf)-listed terrorist organization, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), addressing fellow terrorists in Syria. Harati is now commanding a Libyan brigade operating inside of Syria attempting to destroy the Syrian government and subjugate the Syrian population. Traditionally, this is known as “foreign invasion.”

….

Reuters concedes that the ongoing battle has nothing to do with democracy, but instead is purely a sectarian campaign aimed at “pushing out” Syria’s minorities, perceived to be “oppressing” “Sunni Muslims.”

To reach Syria, Libyan fighters must cross the Mediterranean Sea and enter via Turkey, or cross Egypt, Israel, and enter via Jordan. The government of Syria has threatened Libya in no conceivable manner, making Libya’s campaign an intolerable act of military aggression. Worst of all, the NATO-installed government in Tripoli has officially approved of supporting military operations in distant Syria.

Image: Libya is separated by sea and several nations from Syria. For hundreds, possibly thousands of Libyan fighters to now be turning up in Syria indicates a military operation requiring multinational support, and more specifically, NATO-backing.

….

In November 2011, the Telegraph in their article, “Leading Libyan Islamist met Free Syrian Army opposition group,” would report:

Abdulhakim Belhadj, head of the Tripoli Military Council and the former leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, “met with Free Syrian Army leaders in Istanbul and on the border with Turkey,” said a military official working with Mr Belhadj. “Mustafa Abdul Jalil (the interim Libyan president) sent him there.”

Another Telegraph article, “Libya’s new rulers offer weapons to Syrian rebels,” would admit

Syrian rebels held secret talks with Libya’s new authorities on Friday, aiming to secure weapons and money for their insurgency against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, The Daily Telegraph has learned.

At the meeting, which was held in Istanbul and included Turkish officials, the Syrians requested “assistance” from the Libyan representatives and were offered arms, and potentially volunteers.
“There is something being planned to send weapons and even Libyan fighters to Syria,” said a Libyan source, speaking on condition of anonymity. “There is a military intervention on the way. Within a few weeks you will see.”

Later that month, some 600 Libyan terrorists would be reported to have entered Syria to begin combat operations and as recently as last month, CNN, whose Ivan Watson accompanied terrorists over the Turkish-Syrian border and into Aleppo, revealed that indeed foreign fighters were amongst the militants, particularly Libyans. It was admitted that:

Meanwhile, residents of the village where the Syrian Falcons were headquartered said there were fighters of several North African nationalities also serving with the brigade’s ranks.
A volunteer Libyan fighter has also told CNN he intends to travel from Turkey to Syria within days to add a “platoon” of Libyan fighters to armed movement.

CNN also added:

On Wednesday, CNN’s crew met a Libyan fighter who had crossed into Syria from Turkey with four other Libyans. The fighter wore full camouflage and was carrying a Kalashnikov rifle. He said more Libyan fighters were on the way.

The foreign fighters, some of them are clearly drawn because they see this as … a jihad. So this is a magnet for jihadists who see this as a fight for Sunni Muslims.

CNN’s reports provide bookends to 2011′s admissions that large numbers of Libyan terrorists flush with NATO cash and weapons had headed to Syria, with notorious terrorist LIFG commandersmaking the arrangements.

So who exactly will the US make “pay” for the death of Ambassador Stevens? Will they pull the funds and weapons they are using currently to wage terror upon the people of Syria? Will they liquidate the terror organizations and bases in Libya recruiting and training militants to fight America’s proxy war in Syria? Unlikely.

US Foreign Policy is Hegemony Through Terror, Couched in “Democracy Promotion”

Clearly, those involved in overthrowing the government of Libya, and attempting to overthrow the government of Syria, are not “freedom fighters,” but listed terrorists. The US, UK, and EU are in violation of both their own domestic anti-terrorism laws (and here), as well as international law in their continued support of listed-terrorist organizations.

What was to be a relatively benign public relations stunt to disassociate the US and its “democracy promotion” from terrorist organizations, has now left a high ranking US diplomat dead and the West’s foreign policy narrative in further tatters.

This illustrates operational incompetence as well as Wall Street and London’s increasing reliance on complex ploys to manage public perception. Stakeholders in the Wall Street-London international order will inevitably begin asking themselves whether or not they will share the fate of Stevens if they do not begin an orderly divestment from a crumbling paradigm.

Furthermore, an increasingly aware public will still be able to look at both the Libyan and Egyptian governments and see proxy-regimes desperately seeking “street-credit” through anti-American, anti-Israeli rhetoric (or embassy raids). However, for example, Egypt’s Morsi cannot erase his US education, the US citizenship of his children, nor his current policy of capitulation to the IMF, and his support of the US-Saudi-Israeli proxy assault on Syria.

Image: A visual representation of the National Endowment for Democracy’s corporate-financier ties found across their Board of Directors. Far from “human rights advocates,” they are instead simply leveraging such issues to disguise what is in reality corporate-financier hegemonic expansion.

….

America’s “democracy promotion” is simply a rhetorical mechanism within which hegemonic ambitions are couched. US State Department fronts, including Freedom House and the National Endowment for Democracy have their boards of directors full of Neo-Conservative warmongers and representatives of corporate-financier interests. They use issues of “democracy” and “human rights” to dress up naked military aggression and global corporate-financier expansion.

Image: The Henry Jackson Society is just one of many Neo-Conservative think-tanks, featuring many of the same people and of course, the same corporate sponsors (see annual report beginning on page 18, .pdf). HJS scribe Michael Weiss couches Neo-Con talking points within “liberal” “humanitarianism” regularly upon the pages of the Telegraph.
….

Wall Street and London, realizing that many of their policy makers have become hopelessly discredited, their public opinions dismissed out of hand as warmongering and unacceptable, have established new fronts with new faces to give their agenda “left cover.” Obama’s presidency itselfcan be clearly seen as just such a public relations front.

The Henry Jackson Society’s Michael Weiss, a Neo-Con in cheap liberal clothing, regularly has his propaganda aired by the likes of the Telegraph – despite his colleagues within the halls of the Henry Jackson Society including notorious Neo-Cons Max Boot, Michael Chertoff, Carl Gershman, Robert Kagan, Max Kampelman, William Kristol, Richard Perle, and James Woolsey.

The corporate-financier interests of Wall Street and London hope that those in the West continue to make false distinctions between “left” and “right,” as well as fall for new faces telling old narratives. They also hope that regardless of your political views, you continue paying into their corporations and institutions, so that they continue receiving the resources they need to carry on with their agenda.

In the game of chess, pawns are first sacrificed for tactical advantages. When these are expended, higher-valued pieces are next. Ambassador Stevens’ is just such a “piece.”

His death was caused by a risky geopolitical stunt  for the benefit of his own government, involving extremists he helped arm, train, fund, and install into power. Stevens’ contemporaries must ask themselves if they too are willing to join him in his “sacrifice,” as all the pawns have either been spent, or are stuck in stalemates upon the board.

Mass protests underway in Middle East

BRYN WEESE | QMI AGENCY

WASHINGTON, DC — The murder of America’s ambassador to Libya and three other U.S. citizens in the north African country late Tuesday night may have been planned and organized in advance, and not the result of an angry mob, according to US officials.

The murderers reportedly used rocket-propelled grenades and mortars to attack Ambassador Chris Stevens’ convoy, and the attack coincided with the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Earlier Wednesday, President Barack Obama condemned what he called an “outrageous and shocking attack” outside the US consulate in Benghazi that killed Stevens and three other American diplomatic workers in what was initially thought the work of a mob angered by an anti-Islam film made in the U.S.

A similar protest led to a breach of the US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt where protesters tore down the American flag.

The US beefed up security at all diplomatic posts around the world, and sent 50 Marines to Libya to protect the embassy there in case more security threats loomed.

According to reports, US officials were investigating all possible angles of the attack, but were reluctant to jump to any conclusions.

But the House of Representatives’ intelligence committee chairman Mike Rogers said he had “no doubt.

“It was a co-ordinated, military-style, commando-type raid,” Rogers told Fox News. “This was a well-planned, well-targeted event. No doubt about it.”

In June, a pro-al-Qaida group claimed responsibility for detonating an explosive device outside the U.S. consulate in Benghazi where Stevens was murdered Tuesday, and the same group is believed to have attacked a British diplomatic convoy with rockets in Benghazi in the same month.

And Reuters reported Wednesday anonymous US officials said some reports from the region hinted al-Qaida’s north Africa-based affiliate may have been involved.

But whoever is to blame, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Wednesday it was not the fault of the Libyan people or the new government, but rather “a small and savage group” of people.

And Obama vowed they would be brought to justice.

“Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waiver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act and make no mistake, justice will be done,” he said at a White House press conference Wednesday. “It’s especially tragic that Chris Stevens died in Benghazi
because it is a city that he helped to save. At the height of the Libyan revolution Chris led our diplomatic post in Benghazi with characteristic skill, courage and resolve. He built partnerships with revolutionaries and helped them as they planned to build a new Libya.”

Obama’s Republican challenger in the presidential election Mitt Romney blasted the White House late Tuesday, accusing them of sympathizing with the protesters in Egypt who breached the embassy there over the anti-Islamic video.

The embassy did release a statement condemning not the breach of the embassy but rather the video itself.

Later Wednesday, Romney doubled-down on the attack on

Obama, saying his administration was sending mixed messages to the world by seemingly “apologizing for America’s values” of free speech to make the video, and not condemning the attack on the embassy.

The White House said the statement from the Embassy in Egypt was not approved by the State department.

Romney also called the murder of Stevens and the others outrageous, disgusting, and heartbreaking.

Obama’s campaign fired back at Romney for what they said was trying to score political points over the death of US diplomats.

US Ambassador Lynched Like Gaddafi?

There may be no anti-Islamic movie at all

(CSM)   As I finished this post, I came across an interview with an actress who appears in some of the footage given to Gawker. It goes a long way to clearing up some of the mystery, though not entirely.

Cindy Lee Garcia tells the website that she was hired last summer for a small part in a movie she was told would be called “Desert Warriors,” about life in Egypt 2,000 years ago (Islam is about 1,400 years old).

She told Gawker “It wasn’t based on anything to do with religion, it was just on how things were run in Egypt. There wasn’t anything about Muhammed or Muslims or anything and that, according to Gawker, “In the script and during the shooting, nothing indicated the controversial nature of the final product. Muhammed wasn’t even called Muhammed; he was “Master George,” Garcia said. The words Muhammed were dubbed over in post-production, as were essentially all other offensive references to Islam and Muhammed. Garcia said that there was a man who identified as “Bacile” on set, but that he was Egyptian and frequently spoke Arabic.

The online 14-minute clip of a purportedly anti-Islamic movie that sparked protests at the US embassy in Cairo and and the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya is now looking like it could have been ginned up by someone sitting a basement with cheap dubbing software.

Full credit goes to Sarah Abdurrahman at On the Media and Rosie Grey at Buzzfed who appear to be the first to highlight (there may be others, but they’re the ones who caught my eye) the fact that almost every instance of language referring to Islam or Muhammad in the film has been dubbed in. That is, mouths are mouthing but the words you’re hearing don’t match.

There have already been a bunch of lies associated with the alleged film. A man named “Sam Bacile” was identified as being the writer and producer. He claimed to be an Israeli citizen. The Israelis say they have no record of him. He claimed to have spent $5 million on the movie. The clip online doesn’t look like even $100,000 was spent. There is no record of a “Sam Bacile” living in California, and his strange insistence on the fact that he was Jewish and that he had exclusively Jewish funders for his film in an interview with the Associated Press now looks like something of a red flag.

The one verifiable person involved in this strange tale so far is Steve Klein, an evangelical Christian and anti-Islamic activist with ties to militia groups and a Coptic Christian satellite TV station based in California. Klein told Jeffrey Goldberg at The Atlantic earlier today that he was a consultant on the film, that “Sam Bacile,” was a pseudonym, that the person behind the name probably isn’t Jewish, and he didn’t know the real name of the man. He doesn’t know the name of someone he worked on a movie with? Yet another strange, credulity-stretching claim.

Now comes the part with the compelling case of no movie at all.

Abdurrahman writes:

If you watch closely, you can see that when the actors are reading parts of the script that do not contain Islam-specific language, the audio from the sound stage is used (the audio that was recorded as the actors were simultaneously being filmed). But anytime the actors are referring to something specific to the religion (the Prophet Muhammed, the Quran, etc.) the audio recorded during filming is replaced with a poorly executed post-production dub. And if you look EVEN closer, you can see that the actors’ mouths are saying something other than what the dub is saying.

For example, at 2:53, the voiceover says “His name is Muhammed. And we can call him The Father Unknown.” In this case, the whole line is dubbed, and it appears the actor is actually saying, “His name is George (?). And we can call him The Father Unknown.” I assume the filmmakers thought they were being slick, thinking that dubbing the whole line instead of just the name would make it more seamless and less noticeable to the viewer. But once you start to look for these dubs, it’s hard to see anything else.

And Grey writes:

As the video above — cut from the YouTube video tied to a global controversy — shows, nearly all of the names in the movie’s “trailer” — is a compilation of the most clumsily overdubbed moments from what is in reality an incoherent, haphazardly-edited set of scenes. Among the overdubbed words is “Mohammed,” suggesting that the footage was taken from a film about something else entirely. The footage also suggests multiple video sources — there are obvious and jarring discrepancies among actors and locations… whoever made (it) may well have made use of little more than the standard editing software Final Cut Pro — far from a cast and crew of over 100 and millions of dollars.

Both make very, very convincing points (read their full posts) and if you watch the footage carefully, it’s hard to escape their conclusions. In one scene a man is apparently teaching his daughter about the evils of Islam and writes on a blackboard that “Man + X = BT” as he explains to her that “Man + X = Islamic terrorist.” Then he writes the equation in reverse, again intoning “Islamic terrorist” as he writes “BT.”

If suspicions are right, the low-quality footage has been re-purposed from somewhere, and you’d expect someone to come forward and explain soon (since a lot of actors are involved).

What’s really going on here? I have no idea.

Ron Paul Correctly Predicts Al Qaeda Will Run Libya

Will America Learn From the Libya Attacks?

‘US could drone Libya to death’

RT

Published: 14 September, 2012, 06:41

Washington’s hopes of dealing with the situation caused by a controversial film that’s sparked outrage in Muslim world are paralyzed by the looming presidential election, Pepe Escobar, Asia Times correspondent, told RT.

Escobar says that for now, the Obama administration – who is partly responsible for the demonstrations in the Arab World – will resort to using drones to find the extremists responsible for the deaths of four Foreign Service employees, including the American ambassador to Libya.

RT: US Secretary of State has condemned the controversial film that has sparked the protests, saying Washington’s got nothing to do with it. What impact do you think her words will have on the angered Muslim world?

Pepe Escobar: Well the problem is that Hillary did not tell the world that Washington had everything to do with it from the beginning. Don’t forget that the native rebels were approved by the West, while the Obama administration was leading from behind, according to our new George Orwell terminology.

So this is basically blowback.  We have been warning about this for over a year now. Blowback will happen in Libya as it happened in Egypt, in Yemen… anywhere in the Muslim world, and it will extend to other parts of the Muslim world. What happened based on this absolutely disgusting, cruel, raw production – the 2011 anti-Muslim and anti-prophet Mohammad production – it may be a catalyst, but the most important thing, it’s something that I wrote about in one of my latest stories – I know that al-Zawahiri wants to commemorate the al-Qaeda-style-9/11.  He issued a video admitting the killing by a drone three months ago in Waziristan of Abu Yaya al-Libi who was al-Qaeda’s number two for the past few months. So it is by no accident that what happened in Libya coincides with the al-Zawahiri video and the eleventh anniversary of the 9/11.

So this is bound to expand because the NATO rebels – there are a lot Salafi jihadis implanted in them – the rebels in the Turkish-Syrian border are also infested with Salafi jihadis. The same is happening in Yemen, and the West has been in bed with them since the beginning, just like the Afghani jihadis in the 1980s.  It took years for the blowback to apply, it only happened in the late 90s and 2000s.

RT: These latest attacks, on the US diplomatic missions in Egypt and Libya, were they planned? And if so, who planned those particular attacks?

PE: There is an acronym a gang infested al-Qaeda, Salafi Jihadist style acronym jungle, let’s put it this way. Al-Qaeda in Maghreb, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.  And of course reminisce of the so called the reformed Libyan Islamic fighting group (LIFG) Abdelhakim Belhadj he is a commander. He is one of many militias, the most powerful.

He also has a political proposition in Libya. But the most important thing is that these Salafi jihadists are not part of the power structure in Tripoli. Their agenda is a Caliphate in Eastern Libya. It is not by accident that the attack was in Benghazi. And the same is happening to the Salafi jihadis in Egypt, who got 25 percent of the votes in the Presidential election in Egypt; and the Salafi jihadis in Yemen as well. So the craziest thing is the Obama’s administration’s Middle East policy is now basically, ‘ let’s align ourselves with the Muslim Brotherhood.’

Okay, they may be moderate in Egypt, but they’re not moderates in Syria. And in Libya, the Muslim Brotherhood is part of the government, but at the same time they have to contend with the Salafi jihadis from outside. So what is going to be the response from the Obama administration? I predict it will be like droning them to death, and where are they these Salafi jihadis? They are basically in Dera, south of Benghazi, scattered around in the desert. So I expect a lot of droning in the area in the next few days and weeks.

RT: What can America do as a PR offensive? Or is it too late?

PE: It’s a bit too late. There are two months before the election. Every calculated move by the Obama administration from now on needs to secure the election. They don’t want a discussion about their Middle Eastern policy. They do not want the people in the US discussing if the Muslim Brotherhood is an ally of America or not.

In fact Obama himself already said that Egypt is our ally, it’s not our enemy, but it’s not exactly one of our top allies like Israel, South Korea or Japan. So they do not want to get embroiled in a discussion. And it helps that the Republicans also don’t have a Middle East policy, so if you look at the comments that Romney made yesterday accusing the Obama administration of the whole thing – no, the Obama administration was caught in the crossfire because they do not even know who they’re allied with in the Middle East anymore.

Mitt Romney: Obama should meet Netanyahu

DEBKAfile September 14, 2012, 7:06 PM (GMT+02:00)

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney criticizes President Barack Obama for not meeting in person with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu next week, calling it “confusing and troubling.” He said at a New York fundraiser Friday that Israel is America’s “closest ally” and “best friend in the Middle East.” He urged Obama to meet with Netanyahu surrounding the start of United Nations General Assembly meetings next week.

The marines were flown in to Sanaa Friday as the anti-US Islamist ferment in Yemen and across the Middle East showed no sign of abating. West Bank and Jerusalem Palestinians joined the protest movement for the first time although Israel police prevented them from reaching the US consulate. In Cairo’s Tahrir Square, after Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi again appealed for restraint against foreign missions, protesters carried a giant poster of Osama bin Laden with the slogan: “Take care America, We have 1.5 billion bin Ladens.”

Hundreds of Palestinians lobbing rocks clashed with Jerusalem police as they marched from Friday prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque on Temple Mount toward the Old City’s Damascus Gate – the first Palestinian demonstration against the anti-Muslim film made in the United States. As they neared the US consulate, mounted police forcibly dispersed the Palestinian protesters firing stun grenades. At the Old City’s Herod’s Gate another group of Palestinians injured a few police officers with stones. Some were detained.

Islamists also demonstrated against the US in the Gaza Strip and the southern Israel Bedouin town of Rahat, On the fourth day of violent Muslim riots outside the US embassy in Cairo, protesters hurled rocks and bottle bombs at police officers who responded with stun grenades and tear gas.

In Khartoum, radical Muslims attacked the British and German embassies, storming the latter and torching it. Berlin earlier announced the closure of some of its Middle East embassies. Some remained open with reduced staffs.
Angry anti-American mobs continued to batter the US embassies in Sanaa and Tunis and fill the streets of Bangladesh and Lebanon.

Thursday, Sept. 13, debkafile reported that Israeli military and security forces were on alert for Palestinian and Israeli-Arab riots against the United States. Read the story here.
In the wake of the anti-US Islamist turbulence sweeping Arab capitals, Israel has posted additional military, police and security forces in the West Bank, opposite the Gaza Strip and among Israeli Arab communities following information received that all three are preparing to stage big anti-American protests Friday, Sept. 14, which could easily spill over into Israel.
debkafile: The Palestinian Authority hopes to re-direct West Bank and East Jerusalem anger against PA leaders Mahmoud Abbas and Salam Fayad into an anti-US channel, while Hamas is under orders from the Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo to fill the streets of Gaza with protesters against the alleged anti-Muslim film produced in the US in sync with a big Brotherhood demonstration in Cairo Friday.
Several scores of Israeli Arabs, members of the extremist Northern Section of the Islamic Movement, demonstrated outside the US embassy in Tel Aviv Thursday, chanting anti-American slogans and praise for the Prophet Muhammad.
Israeli authorities are bracing for this small demonstration to swell in numbers after Friday prayers at the mosques and send large numbers of Palestinians and Israeli Muslims out on the streets to replicate the riots against the US spreading Thursday through Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia, Sudan, Iran, Iraq, Morocco and Bangladesh since the deaths of US ambassador Chris Stevens and three of his staff in a premeditated Al Qaeda attack in Benghazi Tuesday, Sept. 11.

debkafile’s Washington sources report that the anti-US ferment sweeping Arab capitals in the last three days finds Obama administration policy-makers in two minds about how it fits into the bigger picture of the Arab Spring and its aftermath. According to one interpretation, the tumult has a domestic motive, and was stirred up or exploited to weaken the new rulers thrown up by the Arab Spring while at the same time dimming US influence in the region.
This view holds that radical Islamists, ranging from Salafites to groups associated with Al Qaeda, are fanning the flames to start a process that will lead to the overthrow of the overly “moderate” Muslim Brotherhood, which is the bedrock of the relationship President Obama is striving to build between the United States and the post-revolution Arab world.

The advocates of this approach say America must maintain the flow of economic and political assistance to Brotherhood-led regimes, notably President Mohamed Morsi of Egypt, to help them stay on their feet against the violent buffeting of radical Islamists.
The other Washington camp takes the opposite line, arguing that “moderate” Islamic rulers like Morsi are in no danger at all and are in fact riding the anger of the masses over the film deriding Islam to solidify their grip on power at the expense of America’s unpopularity among Muslims.

To prove this point, they offer three examples:
1. Since becoming president, Morsi has never retracted statements he made denying al Qaeda’s responsibility for the 9/11 attacks in America. Brotherhood Secretary General Mahmoud Hussein pinned the attacks on “one of the intelligence services in America, or the Jews.” The Brotherhood still stands by the conspiracy theory that the US staged the atrocity to villify Islam.
2.   Morsi, who has been invited to the White House at the end of this month, refrained from condemning the murder of four US diplomats in Libya or offering the Egyptian people’s condolences to the US for its loss. He also waited 24 hours before issuing a tepid statement against the militants who stormed the US embassy in Cairo. he made no mention of the black al Qaeda flags hoisted above the US embassy in Cairo after the Stars and Stripes was torn down. Instead, the Egyptian president instructed his embassy in Washington to prepare a suit against the film’s director. That was before he turned out embarrassingly to be an Egyptian Copt.
3. Thursday, Brotherhood websites aired divergent messages on their English and Arabic sites:  In English, protesters were exhorted to exercise restraint. There were also words of self-congratulation that the US embassy gates were not broken down and no Americans harmed. In Arabic, the Egyptian masses were called out to demonstrate en masse Friday against the made-in-the-USA film.
That demonstration will be carefully watched to see whether it is quiet or veers into violence and anti-American outbursts. That will be the test of Morsi’s bone fides in American eyes. However, its main importance as he sees it is as a demonstration that the Brotherhood has regained control of the streets of Cairo.

It was to show the Egyptian president that he is still on trial in Washington, that President Obama said Thursday that the US would no longer consider the Egyptian government an ally, “but we don’t consider them an enemy. …I think we are going to have to see how they respond to this incident, to see how they respond to maintaining the peace treaty with Israel.” he said.

The way ahead is unclear for Washington as well as Jerusalem. The anti-US ferment in Arab capitals may just be starting. Its next directions and duration are still imponderable. Israel prepares to celebrate the New Year next week surrounded by extreme volatility among its neighbors.

Security Council strongly condemns ‘heinous’ terrorist attack in Yemen

Global Security

13 September 2012 – The Security Council today strongly condemned the terrorist attack that occurred in the capital, Sana’a, on 11 September that caused numerous deaths and injuries, including among the security detail of Yemen’s defence minister.

A car bomb detonated as the motorcade of the minister, Major General Muhammad Nasir Ahmad, passed near government offices in central Sana’a, according to media reports. Eleven people were reportedly killed, including seven of the minister’s bodyguards.

Council members expressed their deep sympathy and sincere condolences to the victims of these “heinous acts” and to their families, and to the people and Government Yemen, according to a statement issued to the press by Ambassador Peter Wittig of Germany, which holds the Council’s rotating presidency for this month.

“The members of the Security Council reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security, and that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed,” the statement added.

Al Zawahri personally ordered Al Qaeda to murder US Ambassador Stevens

The US Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and three staff members at the US consulate in Benghazi were deliberately murdered Tuesday night Sept 11 just after memorial ceremonies were held in America for the victims of the 9/11 outrage. debkafile’s counter-terror sources report exclusively that far from being a spontaneous raid by angry Islamists, it was a professionally executed terrorist operation by a professional Al Qaeda assassination team, whose 20 members acted under the orders of their leader Ayman al Zawahri after special training. They were all Libyans, freed last year from prisons where they were serving sentences for terrorism passed during the late Muammar Qaddafi’s rule.

In a video tape released a few hours before the attack, Zawahri called on the faithful to take revenge on the United States for liquidating one of the organization’s top operatives, Libyan-born Abu Yahya al-Libi in June by a US drone in northwestern Pakistan.
Its release was the “go” signal for the hit team to attack the US diplomats in Benghazi.
To mask their mission, they stormed the consulate on the back of a violent protest by hundreds of Islamists against a film said to insult Prophet Muhammed produced by a Florida real estate agent called Sam Bacile, who has been described as of Israeli origin.

The operation is rated by terror experts as the most ambitious outrage al Qaeda has pulled off in the last decade. According to our sources, the gunmen split into two groups of 10 each and struck in two stages:

1. They first fired rockets at the consulate building on the assumption that the ambassador’s bodyguards would grab him, race him out of the building and drive him to a safe place under the protection of the US secret service;
2.  The second group was able to identify the getaway vehicle and the ambassador’s armed escort and lay in wait to ambush them. The gunmen then closed in and killed the ambassador and his bodyguards at point blank range.
debkafile’s intelligence sources report that the investigation launched by US counter-terror and clandestine services is focusing on finding out why no clue was picked up of the coming attack by any intelligence body and how al Qaeda’s preparations for the attack which took place inside Libya went unnoticed by any surveillance authority.
